Lower Limb Diagnostics and Rehabilitation
Lower Limb Diagnostics and Rehabilitation can help with a range of different conditions that are linked to the foot, ankle, calf, thigh or hip. At Pioneer Private Care, we are here to help identify issues within the lower limb area and provide expert advice on treatments, foot care.
The foot comprises different structures, including bones, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. Over time, as our feet bear the weight of our bodies they are more prone to injury and pain. As a result of these injuries, you may be left immobile for a period of time. In order to ensure you receive the right treatment for your foot pain or injury, you will require a musculoskeletal assessment (physical assessment) and a bespoke rehabilitation program to help get you back to feeling good and carrying out your daily activities quicker.
A well-structured assessment/program will help you return to sports and other activities and enjoy a more active and healthier lifestyle. Following your initial consultation at Pioneer, your clinician will provide a wide range of exercises that are safe and effective for your condition.
The foot and ankle create the contact between the body and ground, making it a weight-bearing structure. Loading the muscles, tendons, bones, and joints of each of these areas needs to be carefully controlled to enhance the weight-bearing function.
This progresses from walking comfortably without a limp to (when appropriate) running, jumping, landing, twisting and accelerating, and stopping for athletic activity.
At Pioneer, we will select the most appropriate diagnostic method, which often combines clinical tests and other diagnostic tools such as tissue elasticity testing, waveform doppler analysis and blood pressure testing amongst many other clinical assessment tools to confirm our diagnosis. Should it be indicated, we may request further tests or request an in-house consult with our medical team to aid our diagnosis
Whether you or a loved one is dealing with podiatry concerns, we’re here to help.

FAQs
A musculoskeletal assessment is a physical examination that evaluates a patient's bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, and muscles. It can help identify problems with the musculoskeletal system, such as pain, stiffness, or difficulty moving.
One of the most common conditions podiatrists treat is bunions (a bony bulge on the outside of the big toe that causes pain, swelling, and limited movement of the toe). It is recommended to visit your local podiatrist if your foot care routine is not alleviating any foot and ankle symptoms. As we get older, an annual foot health check is as important as a sight or hearing test. Conditions like diabetes or circulatory problems can all be picked up by looking at the feet, and common problems like corns, cracked skin, and ingrown toenails can be successfully treated. Even digital deformities such as bunions can be prevented at an early stage or managed effectively at Pioneer Private Care, so the best advice is to have an initial consultation with a member of the team.
There are many potential causes of foot problems which include:
- Standing on your feet for prolonged periods
- Aging
- Injury or trauma
- Overuse
- Extra body weight (greater loading due to an increase in body mass)
- Wearing shoes that don't fit properly
- Other conditions such as Diabetes or Arthritis
